Hosui pears have a rougher, more textured and thicker skin than the other Asian pears. Their flesh, while still crunchy, offers a more melting mouthful, making for a spectacular texture combination when eaten out of hand.
Bring along one of these Asian pears as a snack, or chop it up for a light, crisp addition to a salad. We also recommend baking and poaching them.
