Strawberry Salad with Red Wine Vinaigrette


  • 4 cups chopped redleaf lettuce
  • 1 pint halved or quartered strawberries
  • ¼ red onion
  • ¼ cup goat cheese of choice >> we love Cypress Grove Psychedillic Chevre!
  • ¾ cup candied pecans (if desired)

Sweet Red Wine Vinaigrette

  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ½ cup red wine vinegar
  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • 2 medium cloves garlic minced
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper


  1. Add all dressing ingredients in a jar with a tight fitting lid. Cover jar tightly with lid and shake vigorously to combine. Store in fridge until ready to use.
  2. Wash and dry lettuce then roughly chop and add to a large serving dish or bowl.
  3. Wash and dry strawberries, then cut into quarters and add about half to bowl with lettuce.
  4. Thinly slice red onion and add to bowl.
  5. Crumble goat cheese into bowl.
  6. Toss together all ingredients in the bowl with 2-3 tablespoons of dressing, then scatter the remaining strawberries, cheese and onion over the top.
  7. Sprinkle with candied pecans - if using.
  8. Serve with Sweet Red Wine Vinaigrette on the side, for people to add as little or as much as they like to their own portion.
